Tom Holland Calls Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey “The Best Script I’ve Ever Read”

Tom Holland has been going viral all over the internet recently, thanks to behind-the-scenes photos from his upcoming Spider-Man 4, which is currently being filmed in Italy. The actor’s filming schedule has been packed, as he just finished working in August on Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated adaptation of The Odyssey.

In Nolan’s adaptation, Holland will portray Telemachus, the son of Odysseus, an important figure in the classic Greek epic The Odyssey. Speaking to Agence France-Presse, the actor described the project with high praise, calling it “the best script I have ever read.”

Speaking about his experience working with Christopher Nolan, Holland said, “Chris is a real collaborator.” He added, “He knows what he wants… but it is not an environment where you can’t pitch ideas or build characters in certain ways.”

The Odyssey will be Christopher Nolan’s next major project following his Oscar-winning film Oppenheimer, making it one of the most anticipated releases on his slate. Nolan’s adaptation of the Greek epic will feature a star-studded cast, with Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, John Leguizamo, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron all set to play key roles.

Matt Damon will take on the lead role of Odysseus, charting his perilous journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. Anne Hathaway will portray the loyal Penelope, Zendaya will bring the goddess Athena to life, Robert Pattinson will play Hermes, and Charlize Theron will play the powerful sorceress Circe.

Holland had earlier expressed his admiration for the film in a July interview with GQ, calling his work on The Odyssey “the job of a lifetime, without a doubt.” He added, “The best experience I’ve had on a film set,” and “It was exciting. It was different. And I think the movie is going to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen.”
